About TEE

The tee in malleable cast iron pipe fittings is an important pipe connector, mainly used for
diverting or converging fluids in pipe systems. The tee has three openings, usually including one
inlet and two outlets (or two inlets and one outlet). According to the different directions of the
fluid, it can be divided into equal-diameter tees and reducing tees. The three interfaces of the
equal-diameter tee have the same diameter, while the main pipe and branch pipe of the
reducing tee have different diameters, which is suitable for the connection requirements of
different pipe diameters.
The main function of the tee is to realize the diversion or converging of fluids in the pipe system.
For example, in the water supply system, the tee can distribute the water flow of the main pipe
to two branch pipes; in the drainage system, the tee can collect the wastewater from the two
branch pipes into the main pipe. Due to its reasonable structural design, the tee can effectively
reduce fluid resistance and ensure the smooth flow of the fluid.
The manufacturing material of the malleable cast iron is malleable cast iron, which has high
strength, toughness and corrosion resistance after casting and heat treatment processes. Its
manufacturing process includes steps such as smelting, casting, annealing, machining and surface
treatment to ensure the quality and performance of the product. Annealing makes the carbon in
cast iron exist in the form of flocculent graphite, thereby improving the mechanical properties of
the material and enabling it to withstand higher pressure and impact loads.
The advantages of malleable cast iron tees include good sealing, easy installation and
maintenance, long service life and high cost performance. Its surface is usually galvanized to
enhance corrosion resistance and is suitable for various harsh environments. Common
connection methods include threaded connection and flange connection, which can meet the
installation requirements of different pipeline systems.
